    Sunny Sunday

It was a beautiful, SUNNY, 60 DEGREE mid-November day here in Minnesota. When the weather is this nice, it’s practically a sin to stay inside. The normal temps around this time are in the 40’s, so Luke & I took advantage by bopping around Minneapolis & Saint Paul.

It was the perfect weather for a light military jacket & ankle booties! I purchased this J.Crew jacket a few years ago and it’s still a classic. It’s a thicker material so it can be worn well into the fall with a thick sweater underneath for those chillier days.

    Back in Black.

    Hello, November!

The transitioning weather from October to November is always a gamble here in Minnesota.

I love this mixed texture jacket from Roe Wolfe Boutique (Minneapolis) for this kind of weather. Pair it with black leggings and a plain t-shirt and it magically pulls everything together effortlessly.

The backpack was purchased over the summer from ASOS and it’s my favorite go-to bag. Perfect for events, running errands or just grabbing some drinks with friends!

    In(vest)ed.

The flannel is a fall/winter staple for me (and many other midwestern gals). When it’s a little chillier, I love to pair with a vest for a little extra warmth.

Hands down my favorite vests are from J.Crew. They’re super stylish, practical and high quality. A little on the pricey end, but definitely worth the investment (I wear mine almost every other day!).

Some other great (and affordable) options are J.Crew Factory, Old Navy or Gap (when they have a sale…which is almost always). I have a black vest from J.Crew Factory that I snagged on sale and love it just as much! The only differences are the details in the pockets and the J.Crew version has a little extra fluff.

    Sweater weather.

I recently transitioned my closet from summer to fall/winter and I’ll have to admit, it’s quite exciting. I found a few pieces I totally forgot I had. I’m loving this simple, comfortable and effortless look.I paired my beloved Lularoe leggings and Lularoe Irma top with this chic Zara sweater I picked up in New York last winter.

Pieced everything together with my brown knee high boots and voila – autumn perfection!

    Transitions

Minnesota weather can be so unpredictable, which makes things difficult when trying to dress appropriately for the season. While the transition from summer to fall is absolutely beautiful to witness, I always have trouble trying to dress for the day when it’s cold walking out the door in the morning, but summer-like temps when you head home for the day.

This has been my go-to outfit (or some variation of it) this October and it’s all about the layers:

    Go-To Fall Outfit

I’m obsessed with this military style jacket I picked up from Nordstrom this summer. It’s the perfect length to wear with leggings and has a drawstring waist to make it a little more (or less) fitted.

These leopard sneakers have  been coming through for me this year. They tend to go with any outfit and can tie everything together with a little sass (not to mention they’re super comfy!).  I found the ones above on sale at Nordstrom Rack a few years back and have proved to be one of my all-time favorite purchases!
